Glasswasher repairs · Bristol
Behind a busy bar, a broken glasswasher means cloudy glasses, a growing queue and staff washing by hand. I repair undercounter and passthrough glasswashers for pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels across Bristol and the surrounding areas.

Common faults
Water quality
Much of the Bristol area has hard water. Scale coats elements so they work harder and fail sooner, narrows rinse jets and leaves the dull film on glasses that customers notice straight away.
When I repair a glasswasher, I can also look at the water treatment: whether the built-in or external softener is being topped up with salt and regenerating, or whether a reverse osmosis unit is doing its job. Fixing the fault without looking at the water often means seeing the same problem again.

FAQ
The most common causes are hard water without working softening, the wrong amount of rinse aid, or a rinse that isn’t hot enough. Old film can also build up on the glasses themselves. I can check the machine and the water treatment together.
In hard water areas, yes in most cases. Many glasswashers have a built-in softener that needs regular salt; others need an external softener or reverse osmosis unit. I can advise on what suits your machine and bar.
No. Repeated tripping usually means an electrical fault, such as a damaged element or water getting where it shouldn’t. Switch it off at the isolator and have it tested.
A standard visit (Monday to Friday, until 6pm) is £100 including the first hour of labour, then £25 per 30 minutes. I’m not VAT registered, so there’s nothing to add, and parts are quoted and agreed before fitting.
Yes. Planned servicing, including checks on temperatures, dosing and the softener, helps keep glasses clean and can help reduce breakdowns. See my servicing page.
